La Silla Dorado, Santa Fe NM – Sale 1

Welcome to Sale #1 of our Double Header Weekend, where a short drive north to Santa Fe could very well cure that treasure-hunting itch you’ve been scratching all week. Now, we know what some of you are thinking: “Santa Fe? That’s a drive.” To which we reply, have you ever driven across town for mediocre tacos and not thought twice about it? Trust us, this trip is far more rewarding.

The true magic of this estate begins with an incredible collection of artwork from two local artists whose talents have filled this home with beauty and creativity. The first artist is our client’s grandmother, Cleo Fernandez, and the second is her dad, who signs his work simply as NEO. Together they have created a collection so extensive that you may find yourself wandering from room to room saying, “Just one more piece,” over and over again. Signed originals, prints, posters, and works that deserve a second and third look make this a must-see event for art lovers and collectors alike. Pause for a deep breath… (oh no, I typed that out loud again).

As if the artwork wasn’t enough, this home is overflowing with beautiful glass art. From a stunning vintage Murano double fish to a blown glass maple leaf and countless other pieces, every shelf seems to sparkle with another discovery. Add in Native American pottery, rugs, and artwork, and suddenly your “quick stop” at the sale has turned into a two-hour adventure.

The kitchen is packed with everything needed to create culinary masterpieces, or at least a respectable bowl of cereal. Furniture, lamps, end tables, appliances, and household treasures fill the home from corner to corner. Then there’s the backyard, where you’ll find patio furniture, a grill, potting pots, yard tools, and chairs as far as the eye can see. Okay, maybe not quite that many chairs, but enough that you’ll start mentally redesigning your entire backyard.

And then there is the garage. Ah yes, the garage. A magical place where treasure hunters enter as ordinary shoppers and emerge carrying things they never knew they needed. It is packed with surprises, useful finds, and enough hidden gems to leave you standing in the driveway saying, “OMG, I’m so glad I drove to this sale.”

So fuel up the car, point it north toward Santa Fe, and prepare yourself for an estate sale experience worthy of Double Header Weekend. Some sales are worth visiting. This one is worth the drive.
